To the Scientist Mothers: You Are Seen, You Are Loved
To all the Scientist Mothers I have the pleasure of knowing:
You are extraordinary.
Not because you do everything perfectly (though you sure try).
Not because you juggle caregiving, deadlines, diapers, and data like some kind of superhero (though you often do).
But because you keep going—even when the systems around you weren’t designed with you in mind (and quite frankly feel like they’re trying to tear you down).
Because you lead with love,
think with fire,
and show up with your full self—again and again and again.
Whether you’re chasing tenure, chasing toddlers, or both—
Whether your wins are on the whiteboard or the kitchen floor—
I want you to know this:
You are not alone.
You are not invisible.
And you are deeply, wildly, deservingly loved.
Today, I hope you feel celebrated.
But more than that—I hope you feel supported, seen, and valued
every
single
day.
Happy Mother’s Day. 💚
