As part of MotherMind, one of the optional (but transformative) exercises I offer: an informal 360 evaluation. Using our template, Scientist Mother scholars ask friends, family, mentors, and mentees to share their thoughts on the scholarโs greatest strengths and where they see room for growth.
The goal? To deepen self-awareness, build confidence, and clarify oneโs highest and best useโa guiding concept we use to make decisions about priorities, delegation, and what to let go.
One of our brilliant scholars, letโs call her Zara, completed this exercise and brought her results to an individual coaching session.
The insights were powerful.
โจ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐๐ต๐? Across the board, people praised the exceptional quality of Zaraโs work. Not one person mentioned how hard she worked, how available she is, or how quickly she responds to emails.
This was a lightbulb momentโshe realized that overwork wasnโt what others valued in her. That awareness helped quiet some of the false beliefs that had been driving her over and over to burnout.
๐ก ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด? Her colleagues and loved ones saw her as living into her core values of justice, humility, and funโ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ต ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ฏ ๐ฆ๐น๐ฑ๐ญ๐ช๐ค๐ช๐ต๐ญ๐บ ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฎ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฎ. Sometimes, we are showing up more authentically than we think.
๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ด๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐๐ต ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ? People want to hear MORE from her. They want her to lead with her own voice and visionโto do things her way. Why? Because her way is pretty damn great.
This is the kind of clarity that can change your relationship with workโand yourself.
If youโre a Scientist Mother ready to stop overworking, clarify your path, and lead with purposeโฆ letโs talk.
We have a couple more slots for the MotherMind cohort beginning in a few weeksโgrab yours before itโs gone!
